DLR On the Strait and Narrow.

It’s not every day a new boat meets the water, but today DLR Transport have been part of that process.

Robin Summers – Master fabricator and boat builder; has been creating the aptly named “OFFEEWENT” or “Off He Went” for you non county folk, for the past Eight years. This particular narrow boat has bespoke features running through its entirety, from handmade metal work to a pair of vintage tractor seats, its a complete one off.

Graham Jones; Director of Acorn Clear Print LTD (A specialist print company), is the proud owner of OFFEEWENT No.2 and approached DLR to organise the movement of the boat up to Garstang Marina, Preston. Now boats are not our day to day however DLR are happy to arrange the transportation for unusual loads such as this, at 60ft long our Moffett Forklift (Our Vehicle mounted Forklift truck) was out its depth, so with the use of a 90 tonne crane supplied by Hutchinson Engineering to load at Tuxford and the Garstang Marine boat lift to off load the job was done.

With that Graham is now set to make the most of this one off build and Robin can make a start on his next project.
