Its a top 10 finish for Luxton and DLR @ Brands Hatch.

Ben Luxton secured a top ten finish in the finale of the 2019 Pirelli Superstock 600 series at Kent’s Brands Hatch GP circuit last weekend, 18th to 20th October.

On the J.R. Performance Racing ZX-6R, Ben took some time to find his pace in a weekend of two halves. Friday and Saturday were consistently wet, while Sunday was cold with lingering damp patches on the track.

Ben placed P4 in Free Practice 1 in 1m45.608s, then qualified in P14 with a time of 1m43.548s, +3.091s from pole. He found a more convincing pace in his Sunday race heat and made up places, crossing the line in P8 with a brisk best lap of 1m31.860s.

Ben takes eight points from Kent and finishes the season fifth out of 33 riders on the leader-board with 142 points overall. The top tier of this year’s riders seem to have been very closely matched, with only 24 points separating Ben in fifth from series champion Korie McGreevy. Ben’s highlights this year include three podium finishes: a P3 at Snetterton in July, a P2 at Cadwell Park in August and a P1 at Donington Park in October.

“That’s officially 2019’s racing finished,” said a spokesperson for J.R. Performance Racing. “What an awesome year it has been. We’re so pleased for what the team has achieved this season. Ben took three pole positions and his first win. With two other podium finishes, we ran very close to the front and made fifth place in the championship.”

“Thanks to Joe and the whole J.R. Performance Racing Kawasaki team for all of their efforts this year,” said Ben. “Thanks also to Paul Rogers and DLR Transport, and Luke Rogers, OMG Racing UK, Cool Milk, Knox Armour and 4SR.”
